Top Games of E3

3. God of War III

No doubt, being the first iteration on current gen systems. Sony has a lot to show about God of War III. On top of subtle gameplay changes are new astounding graphics that truly recreate an epic sense of scale. Kratos is back, and no doubt in full force.

2. Modern Warfare 2

This game is red hot. On top of being the sequel to the top selling and most popular online shooter of all time, it also carries a burden in ditching the Call of Duty moniker. Seeing this game in action is gorgeous. Somehow the visuals, sound design, and gameplay mesh together to create a gorgeous and thrilling adventure. We only got to see one level. But new weapons, vehicles, and environments are enticing enough. Throw in the high caliber writing of Infinity Ward and the teams excellent Multiplayer design, and you have a true hit in the making.

1. (Game of the Show) Mass Effect 2

For as stunning, exhilarating, emotional, and powerful as Mass Effect was. It was always bogged down by it's pacing. Action felt clunky and horrible "Elevator Load Times" filled the time between scenes. However, with a more refined sense of action; and a streamlined experience means that technically Mass Effect two is better then the original. However, that's only the surface. Seeing gorgeous locales, hearing the great conversation between characters, and seeing Commander Shepard alive! Gives everyone hope that this game can be as great as it's potential. I know it can be, and will be, for the rest of the world. Bioware is ready to show you exactly why Mass Effect 2 isn't just my pick for Game of Show, but how it's a contender for Game of the Year.
