Poor Crackdown 2, it's a Bastard!

Crackdown 2 has been in the news lately for what can only be described as lazy planning on Microsofts part.

This is how the lovely story begins.

Microsoft and Realtime Worlds begin development on a little game called Crackdown. It does very well. Realtime is thinking long term, starts work on a sequel. Microsoft on the other hand has only given the go-ahead for Crackdown 1, not Crackdown 2. Presumeing that Microsoft wasn't on board for a sequel, Realtime went full ahead on their game APB. Microsoft THEN gave the go ahead for Crackdown 2, but since Realtime started work on APB, development had to be given to a developer who is closely tied to Realtime. Hence why we now have Ruffian Games developing Crackdown 2.

Make sense? Probbaly not. Possibly Realtime can re-acquire the rights for Crackdown 3?
